1. The Salton Sea tilapia broke wide open this past weekend with ice chests-full of one-pound class fish reported at the State Park headquarters jetty. Cooler weather and winds at mid-week lulled this bite a little, but warm weather is forecast for the weekend and this action should take right back off. The best bite has been, as usual, on small pieces of nightcrawler. For an update on the action call the Salton Sea State Recreation Area main office at 760-393-3059.
